Getting Involved, Raising Awareness: How Youth Can Make a Difference

You have power. Even if you’re still in school, your voice matters. Young people can change the world by speaking up, sharing ideas, and helping friends make safe choicees.

Why Your Voice Counts

·      Teens listen to other teens.

·      You know what’s trending, what’s funny, and what grabs attention.

·      Adults may start the conversation, but youth keep it real.

Ways to Get Involved

·      Share on social media. Post facts, videos, or art with #DontRiskItAll. If you don't know where to start, there is a toolkit with videos and images you can use!

·      Start small. Talk to a friend, a classmate, or your team about making safe choices. Check out the fact sheet to learn more.

·      Join or create a club. Work with others to plan events or awareness days.

·      Use your talents. Write, draw, dance, or make music that spreads the message.

Raising Awareness

Awareness means helping people notice and care. You can:

·      Tell stories that connect.

·      Use clear, simple words so everyone understands.

·      Make it personal—why does this matter to you and your friends?

Making a Difference

Every action counts. Speaking to a friend or family member engaging in risky behavior, sharing a post, speaking up in class, or helping at an event can inspire someone else to stay safe. Change doesn’t always happen in big steps—it starts with small ones.

You don’t have to wait until you’re older to lead. Start now. Use your creativity, your voice, and your energy to show others why safety matters. Together, we can protect our future.

Remember: Your future matters. Make choices that keep you and your friends safe.
